Thermal barriers

Suitable for prismatic modules and modules with pouch cells

With their endothermic enthalpy, our self-developed propagation protection barriers are designed to absorb large amounts of thermal energy in the space between the cells in the event of an accident. Thermal runaway propagation is avoided due to the resulting cooling effect on the neighboring cell (Zero-TP). The mechanical properties of the barriers are designed to suit the requirements.

Side potting

Suitable for modules with cylindrical cells

Together with our partners from the chemical industry, we are able to find the optimum formulation for the side potting between your cells. What are your density requirements? Rheology of the potting and application? Mechanical strength? How is it cooled?

Top-Potting

Suitable for all cell formats!

Whether prismatic, pouch or cylindrical: we have already been able to help several customers with the special material properties of the top pottings developed together with our industry partners. The potting covers particularly vulnerable areas like a protective film and thus enables the effective suppression of thermal runaway propagation through flame venting.
